Oh you sweet summer child, that is not something that Facebook will do for them
Those are two different skill sets, just because you think swapping a heating element is hard doesn’t mean everyone else does
Something that has no important data on it whatsoever is absolutely working just fine, and yeah, I had a slip of the tongue, but you bringing it up is a sign you’re out of arguing points, so here’s one. Lemmy is absolutely falling victim to what reddit fell to, echo chambers. Linux is Lemmy’s favorite operating system, and it’s users will defend it to the death and not reason beyond that veil.
I actually can prove this, go ahead, simply try and come up with a sincere advantage windows has over Linux, market superiority, user familiarity and accessibility, software compatibility, I bet you cant without saying “there are no advantages” or adding a “but”
That’s my problem with Lemmy and Linux, I don’t even like windows myself but you’re all such fanboys that you make the prospect of Linux just insufferable because of how you can’t have an unbiased discussion about the different OS’.
Because Its already installed, working fine, and I don’t need it, I believe the very first thing I said is “in pretty sure my dedicated jellyfin server will be fine”
Which once again, means I don’t care about security updates on that computer, why would I put in extra work? Because it’s Lemmy’s favorite browser?
Who cares, windows works just fine in that use case
Why would I use Linux for something that doesn’t require it?
But yes, Im pretty sure my little server I use explicitly for jellyfin will be fine
So to offer a reason “why” specifically for me it was because I have been hanging out with some game devs lately and they f****** hate steam, like it is the vein of their existence, so they showed me this one site and they were like this is the best one in our opinion, of course it’s a little biased but I can see where they’re coming from
Edit: chill out y’all I’m just relaying what I was told, I use steam too, but it also does have a huge grasp on the market and that makes it unfavorable for devs
You can always get a cheap prepaid burner
Oh I see, you were comparing the two rather than quoting me, my mistake
Paywall
I think you misread test as text
You need a ham operators licence and it requires a test and a whole bunch of knowledge
OnePlus “used” to be the unlockable phone, they changed their policy around 9 I believe
Fun fact, widdershins is a real word, it used to be used for talking about someone walking around a church counter clockwise, which would make it possible for a demon (or fae?) to snatch children up
Yeah and a meteor could smash into your house in the next 30 minutes but I wouldn’t count on that either.
The way apps work on android is, they are compartmentalized, if you disable a system app like this, the worst that will happen is some things may get wonky, if you enable it, it will start right back up again.
It’s just a service, if it was something that tracphone wanted to absolutely keep you from disabling, they would have put it in the bootloader. It’s most likely just a marketing app that they get kickbacks for including on their phones
Edit: Here, exactly like I said. My man you got this idea of a worst case scenario in your head with absolutely no evidence
That is extremely unlikely
Well now I wanna hear more about the history of this mystical shit button
Thank you! I’m a staunch believer that most of you don’t think about how much prior knowledge you need just to be able to use Linux, let alone not break things.
Literal dream job ngl
