I went back to school. You can find tons of online courses in just about any subject, and some will count for real college credit if you ever want to turn it into a degree. Many are free, but some will cost you and most are worth it. A way to make your addiction productive.
I would go along with it and hang out and don’t expect anything more. At worst, you have a fun new friend whom you like to hang out with --that’s a win! Since she has no problems making the first move, if she wants this to be more, she’ll let you know. Just have fun with your new friend!
Applause to you for this.
Next level shirts are almost perfect
I wear tall sizes which makes finding shirts a pain. Old Navy has tall sizes and their t shirts are on sale for $6 a few times a year. And they’re very soft and comfortable! I buy like 5 every couple of years.
In the US, most of the food is made in the same factories because they’re regional, then the name brands might get to pick the freshest batch, but often it’s the exact same stuff just in different boxes.
We eat generic all the time, but I will say that frosted flakes and honey nut Cheerios do taste a bit better with the name brand. Luckily, they’re really cheap a couple times a year and I’ll buy a couple boxes then that last me pretty much until they’re on mega sale again
Also: if it’s very swollen, that pressure stabilizes the injury and so it won’t hurt as much because things can’t move around. This is not a good sign.
Did the same thing years ago. It was huge and black and blue. X-rays showed that I only strained it (no actual tears or tissue damage), but I could almost walk on it. It hurt, but I have a different tolerance for pain. I got a neoprene ankle brace with a splint in it and wore that for about 2 months afterwards. It was about 4 months before I was running again.
Now, having said all that, go see a doctor. You may have damaged it differently. There are a lot of bones and tendons in your foot and they all need to work properly for you to walk, so get it checked out. You might be out a few hundred dollars, but if you can’t walk in 40 years, you’ll probably wish you’d done it. Even if it’s bad, there’s a good chance you’ll be just wearing the same neoprene brace this summer.
You could look into being a driver for Cisco: they supply a huge number of restaurants. Might give you connections that you could parlay into working for a different food distributor as either a driver or salesman. I also knew a guy who power washed businesses, like the exteriors. Just showed up and washed the outside walls. I had no idea this was a thing. I think he had to do it overnight though, so might be potentially dangerous in certain areas.
I so hope someone in Hollywood is working on this
Get a workout buddy. Can be a friend or spouse or a trainer, but someone who will make you show up because you know they’re going to be there and you’ll be a jackass if you bail on them. They’ll also make you look forward to the time together, and help you not think about being tired or sore or sweaty or how many left you have, whatever. I’m a trainer and my most valuable skill is making my clients forget they’re working out and that they hate working out. The less you hate what you’re doing, the more likely you are to do it, so find something you don’t mind, and then find someone you like to do it with. Start there.
If you want to get into gym life and weight training, find a good trainer. Date around and find someone you click with. The Internet is full of good and bad advice, but a real(that means certified) trainer will have mostly good advice. If you can’t afford a trainer, then stick to the machines because it’s harder to hurt yourself on those. Anything is better than nothing, but be sure to take your time because moving too fast causes injuries and injuries only waste time, set you back and possibly stop you for good. Learn to enjoy the process and the journey and this will become the lifestyle change people say it should be.
Good luck and be sure to have fun!
I do not have enough up votes for this
I regret that I have only 1 upvote to give
I can’t remember the band or the song, but I remember the VH1 pop-up version where they told you tidbits during the video. The whole thing was 1 take (shot on film in those days) and included a part where they passed the camera through a car. The camera operator had to hand the camera off to someone, run around to the other side of the car and then take it back without it looking like that happened, and while everyone was singing in time. I was a film student at the time and in awe about how well it was done. So much so that I can still see that part, but I cannot remember the song.
I was thinking of working on a PhD, but enough people with a PhD have told me not to that I’ve decided maybe I should listen to the smart people and not do it. Best wishes to you, you tortured soul!
My in-laws told my wife that it was just the “music truck”. She had no idea it sold ice cream until she was in high school.
Have you seen the way old men dress? Everything is gray or brown with the least amount of shape or texture. It’s like boomers collectively agreed to be as uniform and boring as possible. There used to be as much style and individuality in men’s fashion as women’s, but sometime around the end of the 1800s they all said “let’s just all wear this one plain thing for the next 200 years.”
