It’s amazing what you can pull off with free labour and CIA funding. I also find it funny how that donation banner still shows up every year when they’ve already accumulated so much capital.
It’s a real shame what’s happened to Mozilla. Maybe Trump will add browser software to the list of sanctions on China and we’ll end up with a Deepfox in a year or two.

324·1 year agoThis feels like the turning point for Firefox that we all feared would come. They’ve now switched to outright gas lighting their users. They’re trying to convince us that if they take a stab at doing ads the right way, that we can have a web filled with tolerable ads that work for both the user and the business.
Ads and user data collection are the worst part of the internet. Nothing has ever gotten better because of them. And there’s already far too much focus in this area. Mozilla just wants to be another exploiter so that they can have a piece of the stolen value pie.

The longer I work in the tech industry, the more I empathize with it. All the warning signs were there but I ignored them 😭
At the company where I work, in the span of roughly one month, the term vibe coding went from being used exclusively in the derogatory sense to one that is now primarily used in the positive sense. Fuck big tech and fuck capitalism! Fuck all of this shit!!
