not quite. Democrats had a 267 majority between 1990-1992. Websites existed in 1992.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What a 5400 rpm drive and a 100 Mbps link actually do to Immich (numbers from two 2011 boxes)English
2·14 days agoDid you read the article? I’m guessing not, because you’d have read this part
… and a “5400 RPM Class” Western Digital Red—which, as tested by audio spectral analysis, actually spins at 7,200rpm
or followed the link to the original investigation and seen this part:
Known “5400RPM Class”=7200RPM drives: …
WD80EZAZ-11TDBA0 (WD MyBook 8TB)
WD80EFAX (WD Red Plus 8TB)
WD100EFAX/WD101EFAX (WD Red Plus 10TB)
[WD80EFZX? (old WD Red 8TB)]

2·14 days agoare you sure the WD red plus was actually 5400rpm and not what they call “5400rpm class”? WD was caught straight up lying on the spec sheets for 5400 drives, they’re actually 7200. e.g https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2020/09/western-digital-is-trying-to-redefine-the-word-rpm/

12·15 days agois sockseek one of those clients that doesn’t share back and just leeches off the network?
If so please don’t use it, people have started putting capatchas on their shares because of these clients and it messes up legitimate clients like slskd

I guess it depends on how one interprets “news website” If taken as “a website that has news on it” it’s quite plausible the 1990-1992 majority was documented, especially given this archive from Nov 1992: https://www.w3.org/History/19921103-hypertext/hypertext/Products/WAIS/Sources/Political.html has various links to things about the 1992 election
