Hmmm, we have a company who’s success has been largely due to it’s large network of developers and the outgoing CEO tried to destroy that community… Who should replace them? Oh, I know, someone who took another company who’s success was based on a large network of developers and successfully killed that community
APC is nice in an enterprise-like setup and the management software is really mature. That said, you don’t get much for your money and for a homelab, I’ve been happy with my Tripplite UPS which was about half the cost. I got the expansion battery as well and the whole setup cost me less than $700
No man is an island and policies that aim to better the nation’s health are rarely for the benefit of the individual and rather are a way to benefit the masses by increasing productivity in the labor market, reducing healthcare costs, and generally making the nation more competitive on the international stage
A trust less system also can aid in stymieing wire fraud in real estate transactions which is shockingly common. Today, someone doesn’t even have to have your private key to pretend to be you and steal your escrow funds - just a spoof email, good timing, and a paralegal that makes a mistake

Any z-wave or ZigBee lock like those from Schlage are great. You can then integrate it into Home Assistant where there are great integrations like keymaster that make it super simple to do management like what you’ve mentioned
Older sister by the same age range as yourself, OP. As kids we fought, when she made it to college we became closer, when she entered adulthood things got strained as she and my family did not approve of my SO (they were right, she was terrible), and once we were both adults we are friendly. We don’t really have much in common as she very much lives a “Leave It To Beaver” type life (kids, house in the burbs, stay at home mom) and my SO and I are DINKs, do extreme sports like rock climbing and backcountry ski/splitboard, and have no plans to have kids (vasectomy on the horizon). So we keep in touch but don’t connect on a lot of things besides our shared family members / updates on my nephews
As a manager, I don’t give a flying fuck why my team wants to take time off. Wanna sit on your ass and play video games for a week straight, cool all good by me : just let me know the dates, check their PTO balance, and ensure it doesn’t conflict with key deliverables and if so either work out a plan for coverage or suggest they look for a different time to take off if possible
Amazon is hardly the worst, just the biggest
Spacebass over on my end : G Jones, EPROM, Alix Perez, Ivy Lab, Of The Trees, Chee, Tsuruda, ISOxo, Culprate, Lab Group
This song has been on solid repeat for me lately GATZB - Get Down
Is it still aimed primarily at HDDs or does it have SSD utilities now? As I understand it, most of its wiping methods are/we’re geared toward HDDs
Very different. I haven’t used FreeCAD much but it is far more visual and full-featured (I believe it even has some simulation features for moving parts) where OpenSCAD is really just primitive shapes and scripting but for my workflows (mostly creating 3D printed parts) it works well
OpenSCAD and Gitlab. I can quickly iterate on designs through code, push it to my Gitlab instance, and have my CI/CD pipelines pick it up, render it, and automatically slice it in some common profiles to send to Octoprint
Really anything by David Lynch including the old PlayStation commercials
Marijuana and occasional psychedelics
Seems to be much ado about nothing currently. Even in the release notes it clarified that this feature is not yet included and the quarantine list will be shared once ready (and will at first be mostly test domains). The blog seems to be wildly speculating on its intended use and possible impacts given the knowledge currently available
For Frigate especially, you are going to want to use multiple Coral TPUs to handle inferencing. I really can’t speak to the CPU requirements but I know a lot of people like using the Intel NUCs with mic tier processors.
You’re going to have to use an external service for email perhaps connected to something like Postfix or just using the email provider’s API - something else to think of if you just need something on your phone as a message / reminder is to use KDE Connect like in this tutorial https://doronbehar.com/articles/using-kdeconnect-to-comfortably-send-sms-messages-from-the-shell/
