News@lemmy.world•'Has hell frozen over?': Las Vegas tourism is in trouble
131·6 months agoI visited Vegas last year. Regardless of any sort of economical or political issues, it was some of the most miserable heat I’ve ever experienced. Standing outside for only a few minutes exhausted me.

42·1 year agoWhy doesn’t she force their hand and make them fire her. Then she can take them to court for wrongful termination? I don’t know if that’s how it works but resigning seems like dropping the case with extra steps that only negatively impact herself.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•The government doesn't use SQL
181·1 year agoHere’s a video out there where he’s talking to Twitter devs telling them they need a total rewrite because their stack is too complicated.
Someone gives him the slightest amount of pushback by asking what exactly he means by a rewrite and he cannot give a coherent answer. Someone else asks him to clarify what it is about their stack that is ‘crazy’. Elon gets very flustered and can only respond by calling the guy a jackass.
He knows absolutely nothing about programming.

111·1 year agoI’m kind of a Lemmy noob. I just realized I have a .world after my name. How do I move and where do you suggest?
Well, its backend uses Elixir and is performant as fuck so not trash in all possible ways.
And for me Slack shits the bed fairly often and their recent UI enshitification made absolutely no comprehendable sense to me.
Also, your generalization of people who do or don’t like a specific app is wild to me.

72·2 years agoI’m starting to get tired of this canned sarcastic response that is on literally every single thread I read.
