They’ve moved to cosmic DE, which isn’t quite ready for primetime in my opinion. Best distros for gaming in my opinion would be cachy, fedora, bazzite. I use Arch, which I feel is the best choice, but not for everyone.

It’s worth the switch. Bazzite Is a solid choice. I would stay away from PopOS for now. CachyOS is a great high performance choice, especially if you have Linux experience.
This is also my setup. I’ve tried nix a few times on desktop and servers, but didn’t stick. Keep going back to arch and debian

It might be enough today, but a MacBook is expected to last a decade. These might have a few good years at best

If you already have arch installed, don’t worry about how hard it is to install. All done! You can also run the cachyos kennel in arch if you want

It was in his reaction video to LTT trying it Linux again

No, Arch for laptops/desktops. Debian for servers.

A fellow linux unplugged listener? Just guessing because I see TUI challenge in your config :)
You can disable shorts on desktop
I had 2 of these for years ran back to Synology surveillance station and they were great. I’ve expanded to 6 cameras now and bought the Reolink NVR. It works great, with good picture quality. Pretty inexpensive setup overall. No downtime. Very happy with Reolink.

You win the internet today, friend

I use discord flatpak and it works flawlessly. You will need to check your specific headset of course

Kinda seems like it was the right call if it survived an implosion

I just finished it. Very interesting topic

I also use aegis. Have been for years and it works great
This isn’t going to be an option in the near future. With Amazon sidewalk and other projects setting up open networks, your TV is going to automatically connect to a network whether you like it or not.

I use Eternity on Android, which is almost exclusively how I use Lemmy. When I use on desktop, I use old Lemmy.
Try out Firefox. It works incredibly well
