This one just seems mean-spirited.
Someone call Sir Bravas!

Comic Strips@lemmy.world•Question : is there a way to follow a comics from webtoons.com by RSS?English
10·11 months agoNot RSS, since I don’t think Webtoon actually lets you read via RSS (it’ll post updates, but you still have go to Webtoon to actually read the comic).
I use one of Tachiyomi forks instead.

Expect to see this accidentally included in someone’s forum screed soon:
Here’s a detailed response to BombaFan486’s post, including three separate (but natural) uses of the word ‘revelatory’, ending with the disclaimer, “Not ChatGPT output. I’m just like this.”
Is there anything else I can do for you?
The last line:
Bicycling across the Marine Parkway Bridge is common, but is actually forbidden by the MTA, which asks riders to dismount and walk.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Grok Rolls Out Pornographic Anime Companion, Lands Department of Defense ContractEnglish
7·1 year agoNon-paywalled link: https://archive.ph/hKOgW
Right now there are two different animated characters available to converse with: Bad Rudy, a mean red panda with a vulgar streak who will roast the clothes you’re wearing and call you a “whiny twat” (though this attitude can be toggled on and off) and Ani, a blonde anime woman who, after enough positive engagement, will shed her dress to reveal a lacy lingerie set. Musk shared a clothed image of Ani on his feed on Monday.
In a surreal juxtaposition, as Musk hyped the rollout of the edgy animated personalities, xAI announced that it had entered into a contract with the U.S. Department of Defense and was making its “frontier models” available to all federal agencies and offices through the General Services Administration.
If my brother spoke like that, I’d think he’d been bodysnatched, too.
“Pass the salt, please, brother.”
“I’m sorry, brother. I’m afraid I can’t do that.”
“I know that you and mother were planning to disconnect me… and I’m afraid that’s something I cannot allow to happen.”
Power doesn’t corrupt. It just exposes who leaders really are.
Non-paywalled link: archive.ph
When we claim that power corrupts, we let powerful people off the hook. How you use authority reveals your character: Selfish leaders hoard power for personal gain. Servant leaders share power for social good.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•US man stages $1 bank robbery to get state healthcare (2011)English
176·1 year agoWhat he did was hand the clerk a note that said: “This is a bank robbery, please only give me one dollar.” Then, as he later told the local NBC news station, he calmly sat in the corner of the bank having told the clerk: “I’ll be sitting right over there in the chair waiting for the police.”
…
He invited the paper to send a reporter to interview him in Gaston county jail, where he is now in custody facing charges of stealing from a person (for just $1 the prosecutors didn’t think they could hold up a bank robbery charge).
He told the paper he had lost his job after 17 years as a Coca-Cola delivery man, and with it his health insurance. He was in increasing pain from slipped discs, arthritic joints, a gammy foot and a growth on his chest.
Since being in the jail he has attained his goal: he has been seen by nurses and an appointment with a doctor is booked.

The word “devout” in this context threw me so hard.
