1·10 days agoThat would be a great application for it! Okay, I’m swayed in the other direction. For stuff like schools, churches, etc, I can see it making sense. Especially if the machines aren’t hard to maintain.

3·10 days agoYeah, that’s fair. Snow blowers as a personal purchase have always felt silly to me, since if needed you could always pay for a shovel/plow service that just come when it snows, so you don’t have an expensive appliance sitting around that might barely be used. Now I’m wondering what the cost comparison would look like between the two. I suppose it depends on how much snow you usually get

48·1 month agoIsn’t taking pictures of someone in the bathroom the exact kind of creepy behavior they’re always baselessly accusing trans women of? Always projection with these disgusting fucks.

101·2 months agoI would find it less respectful for someone to assume things about me based on what they see on social media. If their question is polite and born out of genuine curiosity, and they don’t react poorly to hearing “I don’t want to talk about that right now”, I would much rather someone ask me a question directly.
I honestly find it a little baffling to think that we should try to avoid talking to people that are different than us and learning about their experiences, in the name of “respect”.

Comic Strips@lemmy.world•you can educate your self without bothering othersEnglish
181·2 months agoI mean, if someone asks a polite question, the other person can just as politely say “I’d rather not talk about that”, and then everyone goes along with their day

26·2 months agoSo, if I understand this correctly, if I can prove that one of my ancestors was a Canadian citizen, then all their descendants have automatically been made Canadian citizens, including me?

My genealogy might finally pay off! I have a lot of French Canadians back in my family tree. Now to track down the documents to prove it

Is that common? I was kicked off the SAVE plan, so I had to re-enroll in an older IBR plan
