Guardians 3 was good.

Mostly because they weren’t trying to shoehorn future movie plot setups into it.

On that note, the Holiday Special was also pretty good.

Shang-Chi wasn’t a bad movie… Not one I’m likely to rewatch much, but a good popcorn movie…

Other than that, no Marvel has started falling into producer interference mode, where every movie must explicitly set up the next, even if they don’t have a full plan for what’s next.

They’ve lost sight of the key to their success; telling a tight, self-contained story made by people who love the characters.

But is it really?

Trump was described by one of his college professors as the dumbest student to ever walk through that class.

His “business empire” has been a long string of outright stupid decisions. If he wasn’t born rich, he’d be that one guy constantly losing his life savings on get rich quick schemes.

As it is, Trump actually lost a lot of money trying to get rich(er) quickly.

Also, saying that Trump talks like an imbecile on purpose is like saying he shits his pants on purpose.

If he could string a coherent sentence together, he would. If only to stop people from making fun of his stupidity.

My hometown had the Dairy Queen raided by the DEA back in the early 90s. They sold all sorts of drugs off of a secret menu.

Except for the fact that he did, in fact, kill himself.

He saw his future prospects of constantly being in and out of prison hospitals, as the other prisoners continually beat him, and chose instead to end it all.

The fact that it also screwed over his victims and made prosecuting his clients much harder is ancillary to the fact that he killed himself to get out of having his ass handed to him every day for the rest of his life.

It doesn’t take a genius to see, but it does take a special kind of genius to see conspiracy and a clandestine murder in it.

The footage thing is a game of telephone that the internet has played with itself.

There was no footage of the cell itself, because there are no cameras in any cells except those used for suicide watch. Epstein was pulled off suicide watch.

Internet sleuths keep demanding footage of the cell itself, which flies in the face of how prisons run.

There is footage of the cell block hallways leading to and from Epstein’s cell. The footage there shows no people entering or exiting the hallway. Which leads to the next part.

The guards falsified records. They were both actually asleep on the job, but had filed statements saying they were awake and alert and watching the prison. The footage showed that neither guard did any rounds that night. They didn’t do rounds the night before, or even the week before. They basically just didn’t do rounds at all.

They were both prosecuted for such, but got off because law enforcement sleeping on the job is just sort of accepted…

I can’t find anything about a payoff.

The “Epstein didn’t kill himself” nonsense always bothered me. It ignores why he was arrested in the first place.

He was soliciting sex with underage girls from a local, and rich, high school. The solicitation was for himself.

So you have an old man trying (and sometimes succeeding) at picking up 14-17 year old white girls from rich families. He was super sloppy about it as well, attempting the shotgun approach of just messaging every single girl he could on various social media platforms.

This got the attention of the media, and pissed off some people with some money behind them.

He was going to prison for his own solicitation, and not for supplying anyone else.

But once the media started digging, they found a bunch of shit that said he had also been supplying girls to the rich and famous. But those weren’t the charges he was facing, and his rich and famous friends could not, or would not, help him with the charges he was facing.

What they could do, was pull him off of suicide watch.

A pedo in prison either has to be in protective custody, or be otherwise protected from the other prisoners. Otherwise, the other prisoners will take out all their aggression on the pedo.

Epstein was facing prison time, and was being threatened with being placed in general population. He had already been attacked by another inmate, and had uncountable beatings to look forward to.

So the moment he was pulled from suicide watch, he killed himself. It was a selfish decision, but it also greatly helped out the people he had supplied girls to.

The main question is, did some of his powerful friends pull strings to get him off suicide watch? We also know that he met his lawyer days earlier and signed documents that made it much harder for his victims to get compensation, but only in the case of his death.

That alone points to him planning to die rather than spend the rest of his life being repeatedly beaten by other inmates.

Basic used “else”.

It’s nice. “if”, “then”, and “else”. I spent a year programming a shitty roulette game on an Apple 2e back in high school. I still remember the joy of using if/then/else paired with goto to make a horrible mess of spaghetti logic.

But yeah, “else” is nice.

Not ideal, but there’s quite a bit of job security in it.

Part of it is the fact that Ubuntu is an entry level sort of OS, it’s been simplified down and made easy. So the sort of people who have it are often less tech-savvy, and when something does go wrong, they ask a lot of pretty basic seeming questions.

This isn’t helped by some of Canonical’s design choices. Nothing overt, but Ubuntu has a flavor that’s distinctly Ubuntu, and knowledge of other distros is sometimes a detriment in solving problems.

Canonical is also a company that just rubs some people the wrong way. There was some data collection shit where they asked users to opt-out of collection, after installing the data collection app.

Then there’s Snaps… it’s their own unique take on program management. Which is a Canonical thing, reinventing the wheel so that they can have their own unique little thing. Like Mir and Unity, which were then both abandoned to the community.

It’s good that the community can take over when Canonical drops something, but still…

I actually say the cheapest option is buying a good quality Safety Razor, and then packs of blades for pennies each.

It’s how I’ve shaved for years, and I’m never going back to the multi blade bullshit disposables.

Adli’s beer is usually locally sourced. I lived in Columbus OH for a time, and the selection was actually pretty good (depending on season).

I’ve also seen Aldi stock horrible beer, both in Columbus and elsewhere.

I see most of the people in the comments here have older model heat pumps.

Newer model heat pumps are quite a bit better than even ones made 10 years ago.

My dad had one put in two years ago for his garage kitchen, and it’s worked quite well, even in fairly cold temperatures. Most importantly, that heat pump doesn’t have an auxiliary mode, and yet it still works in sub freezing temperatures.

It would work even better if it were ground source, but those are both expensive and require digging up the yard.

But the absolute worst is the 5th pin down on the far left side. There’s so little solder used that you can see into the hole.

A few others are also a bit lacking as well. Almost all of the joints are ugly as sin…

Another option, she’s buying a new house down the road, and selling this one to pay for it.

If the person who did this wanted the other house but lost out on the bid, this is a fairly low-cost way of fucking up that deal. And if the deal still goes through, then it’s just a costly act of petty revenge.

That wouldn’t work on my system.

He’s fudged numbers before, and often makes clickbait titles that just are not supported by his blog posts or videos.

The shitty politics were not the only reason I started ignoring his dumb ass.

Seems to be a Qanon guy. Or he was for a time. I’ve not paid attention to him in years.

He also always came off as a grifter in search of a con, so the Qanon shit might have been part of that, but who can ever tell with those people.
