4·2 days agoThey won’t block this when it has such obvious public support behind it. They’ll daydream about doing it and threaten it in a jokingly way but when push comes to shove theres nothing they can do.

Seize the means of the chopped brisket!

Not enough mass. The airliners were wide bodies and were fully fueled at the time of impact. Thats like 9,000 gallons of fuel. Imagine how heavy it is to carry a 1 gallon jug of milk, imagine how much 9,000 of those would feel. You wouldn’t want to try to catch a full 1 gallon jug of milk if I tossed it down from a 3rd story window, right? Now imagine that gallon of milk moving 3-4 times as fast…now multiply that by 9,000.
That roadster is going to be out of fuel by time it gets up to the 100th floor. Amateurs.

11·7 days agoYeah unpopular opinion but floor mattress is ideal for pounding. More stable, less squeaky, can still do a full range of positions on it.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•You may mourn his death but I'm glad that tyrant Sejanus is finally dead.
7·7 days agoYes. This is a plot element of the story. Sejanus is very brash, arrogant, conniving and doesn’t have a problem with fondling the generous assets of the Roman empire. One of my favorite roles of his.
He’d be proud of your word usage.
As much as I agree I actually created this quote in his style. I’d be happy to lend it to him if he wants to borrow it, of course.

Firefox@lemmy.ml•Firefox's new ad: "It’s time to come back to Firefox. The Internet you loved is still here."
2·9 days agoThe older ways of webrings, forums, and personal websites, are still as present as ever. I don’t know if there are more or fewer of these, but I would guess more than ever before.
This, but it does depend on the subject matter. Certain message boards and forum communities are still very active and are the best places for like minded people to go to. Whereas other niche forums took a hit and those subjects tend to be discussed more on places like Reddit or Facebook groups.
Web-rings aren’t really a thing anymore. Sure, some websites might still have them at the bottom of the page but comon, when was the last time you used one?
I’d say the private community forums are shrinking but there are still a few areas where they thrive (not going to give away my hobbies on here but there are a few relevant subjects that have their own active message boards…many were communities on Yahoo groups that migrated to other systems.)
The replacement sites and their “communities” are flooded with bots and people from India (not necessarily a bad thing but they aren’t always the best participants. They often seem to be their for negative reasons or don’t really contribute much other than engagement for the metrics.) Reddit and Facebook are the noteworthy examples of this.

Sure thats what they always do. Even when they win.
