Termus is a hardware guy, and if AI is going to play a part in Apple’s long-term plan (and I agree that it will,) it’s going to skew heavily on-device. I don’t think we see any big AI changes from Apple just because Ternus is now CEO.

The way I see it (and it’s a bit of a guess) is that Apple is simply passing through what the GNIS entry is. To be honest, that’s kinda the right move by mapping companies; or at least it’s a move I can stomach.

I’ve personally never seen in my own policies any kind of financing when paying monthly. It’s always been policy total / 6 = monthly payment. Then there is a modest (and yes, mildly infuriating) fee per payment. When I said the fee was the cost of financing, I didn’t mean it literally was that, but more of an “effective” cost of financing. I’d love to see someone’s policy that has a financing increase line item.

The fee isn’t for the payment method, it’s for “financing” the cost of the policy over six months. I’m sure that there is no fee if you pay in full.

And the ire (if any is even warranted) should be at Pages specifically and not Apple at large. You can download LobreOffice just fine, or you can pay for Word. Heck, let’s give some love to Preview, the VLC of static documents.

It’s seldom that simple. Much of the time with older music, a good clean vinyl rip can sound much better than a poorly mastered early digital transfer (like is often the case with first CD releases of albums first released in the 60s).

I’m with you and OP that poor rips do indeed sound bad (like spotting a bad toupee), but I wouldn’t discount all vinyl rips out of hand. For example, I much prefer my PBTHAL rips of the original mono vinyl releases of the Beatles albums to even the modern remasters.
