I’ve seen it plenty of times. Solitary confinement is torture, punitive beatings are torture. Where I’m from, it’s very common for parents to inflict these forms of torture on their children.

I didn’t “make up” anything, I commented about an experience I have witnessed among many, many of my peers. Shitty parents who fetishize rules and uphold them over what is right are very common in my personal, lived experience.
