Hey, give me a little credit…
I’ve managed to misrepresent two sides of an argument in this one.

Your last sentence gave me an idea.
Why don’t we put the Confederacy statues in something like an “American Slavery Museum”?
Its probably good to remember that these horrific ideas were once admired and honored, lest we become complacent. But putting them in the right context, i.e. next to evidence of the horrors wrought by their ideals, seems like the perfect place for them imho.
Edit: well, not every idea I have is a winner.
I dunno Yogi. I get that you are cool with jokes about trump and religion, but you immediately came to the defense of “dark humor” mfers. Seems like even you have your sacred cows.
naw man, I’m just fucking with you. I knew what you meant.
Dark humor mfers: “Everything is fair to joke about, race, gender, orientation, disabilities, everything”
Someone: makes joke about dark humor mfers
Dark humor mfers: “Now you’ve gone too far!”
No! Always make assumptions! They make conversations faster!
Comparison mostly. HD and 3D isn’t impressing you by virtue of it being superior to real life (it isn’t after all), it’s impressing you compared to other examples of the same thing done “worse”. The best portrait artist in the world can not make something look more “real” than the reference material, but it can compared to other attempts at painting.
This is true in other natural things as well. For example, a really big tree surrounded by smaller similar sized trees feels “really impressive” compared to a mountain surrounded by other… similar sized mountains. Or why a particularly colorful plant seems impressive surrounded by a bunch of green and brown plants.
On the other hand, things like OLED screens can be impressive compared to the natural world due to their ability to arrange and display colors rarely found in nature.
What’s updog?
Well you see, when a capitalist and a politician love eachother money very much, they engage in an act of love collusion. This gets both of them very much money. So much in fact, that they couldn’t possibly hold on to all of it. And the money that falls out of their pocket trickles down to every one! Thus, products are improved, and everyone gets their needs met!
This is the free market in action, and anyone who disagrees is a dirty Commie!
It’s really easy to avoid sentencing, I’ve done it all my life by following one simple rule: Don’t Do Crimes.
Yeah, sorry, I misunderstood this to mean, “not doing crimes == not being convicted”. Which sounded a lot like the “if you’re innocent, you have nothing to fear from the police” mentality.
As much as Trump is obviously guilty as fuck, I’m not willing to adopt the “if you’ve done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear from the cops law” mentality.
Not if you want to apply the “we are not the same meme” format. That… Like a sith… Only deals in absolutes.
1 vegetarian baby or?
Cost cutting, the advent of digital distribution, as well as technological and game design improvements that allowed for such information to be conveyed in game, all contributed to game manuals becoming less and less valuable. Due to these factors, they kept getting smaller and smaller until one day the just stopped being commonly made.
Though my nostalgia still misses them (and strategy guides).
Piggybacking on to this excellent comment to elaborate on modding New Vegas. Everything except NVR works great! I’d recommend using this to install MO2
4GB patcher has a Linux specific version on the Nexus Mods page.
You can run most tools like the BSA decompressor or the TTW installer using Protontricks.
xLODGen can be added as a tool to MO2 and just works.
edit: Forgot to mention, Wabbajack doesn’t work. Best just to run it on a Windows VM and move the files. Also, the current working version of MO2 doesn’t support Root builder. So just move any files that need to be in the game folder directly to the game folder.
Sorry pal, but I dont see the value in dropping a list of atrocities on a post about an old mans final days. Especially not to prove a point to someone who views the world as so black and white, and who picks fights only to act indignant when they find one.
I dont agree with the vitriolic comments thrown your way, but if you dont see how you asked for them, then you are as bad at self reflection as the Americans you are so quick to judge.
I followed up on your assertions, as I was wholly ignorant to them prior. And while I’m not terribly surprised, as it’s seemingly almost impossible to be the President and not get involved in our country’s sordid history, I am sad to find out Jimmy “sold his peanut farm” Carter’s legacy is tied to so many atrocities. It’s worth knowing about if we want to improve the world.
A bit of friendly advice though, attacking people for their ignorance is simply a terrible way to break their illusions. Unless you were just trying to be a dick for its own sake, your tact will accomplish little more than pushing people further down the path you so eloquently deemed “fucking pathetic”.
And to that extent, don’t be so quick to throw stones from your glass house. There are no countries that are wholly innocent. We need to push for solidarity, not division, if we aim to change that in the future.
True, but being anti genocide, anti colonialism, and anti war often are. Just so happens that these ideas and Palestinian statehood are simpatico at the moment.
Well… Not to restate the obvious, but I hoped you had discovered a viable anti genocide third party that could overcome the duopoly.
I dunno, I think it’s a bit more clever and less desperate than that. The teacher knows the kids are saying it a lot. Getting them to even lightly associate it with their learning objectives will help at least some kids academically. Mnemonics are stronger when they are memorable and repeatable after all.
There is no way the teacher thinks this will make learning “cool”. And the fact that co-opting it speeds up the process that skibidi will become “uncool” is probably just a fringe benefit to the teacher. Really, it’s a masterclass in psychology, a win-win.
