This is the terrifying part. Ads have become so normal in everyday life that people see nothing wrong with wasting their life away being marketed to by corporations. How much of someone’s life is wasted hearing their existence isn’t good enough but if they’d only buy some product they could be happy?
And yet people are fine with:

I think you’re right on this. People aren’t moving away from MS because of their obnoxious behaviour. They’re moving to alternate form factors and dealing with Apple’s and Google’s obnoxious behaviour instead. People are willing to put up with a metric ton of bullshit so they don’t have to actually do anything for themselves.
Conservatism has its roots in fear. The world is changing and people are scared.
This will not end well.

Democrats are neoliberals. They believe in freedom of capital. They are for big corporations. They’re better than the Republicans, but they are not on your side. They are not the solution to the problem we’re in. They’re part of it. They’ve shown you time and time again they don’t care about you. This isn’t a party dispute. It’s a class dispute.
The solution is to take the few politicians who are actually with us, Bernie Sanders, AOC, etc and push the rest of them out. All the others are on the same side.
Yeah they voted for him but they didn’t actually think he’d do those things.
The Democrats are not blocking because they are complicit. They are not on your side.

I find it interesting that those Republicans are trying to remove healthcare, meaning many people will die. They will absolutely die from the direct actions of those politicians. They are murdering people.
But any mention of fighting back is over-the-line and not allowed. Why can one side do it but not the other?

IDK if Norway has, but here in Denmark we do have warnings about traveling to USA now!
Meanwhile, here in Canada it’s fucking crickets. They briefly had a warning about the protests in LA, but there’s no recommendation or warning about visiting the US. They’re kidnapping people off the streets, imprisoning them, deporting them to other countries, and Trump has repeatedly mentioned annexing our country and yet our government is saying nothing.
I’m happy for you extroverts to go use the cashier checkout lanes if you are that desperate for small talk.
That’s amusing. I’m a total introvert. I don’t do small talk. It’s draining to me too. That’s why I’m wondering where the hell you’re shopping. I never use self checkouts and never have a problem with having to chat with anyone.
Where the hell are you shopping that you have to make small talk? I say “hi” when I walk up. Wait while they scan. They say “that’ll be $10”. I tap my card, say “thanks” and leave.
If people can’t even interact with each other on a surface level like that it’s no wonder we’re all so lonely and depressed.
