I don’t agree in general - I like the trad sitcom “sort of live” approach, as in Cheers and early Red Dwarf, but it is definitely used as you say far too often. The fecking Flintstones used a laugh track - an animated show.
But search YouTube for “Big Bang Theory without Laugh Track” and you’ll see a dew examples of how shit most of the humour actually is
Yeah I think dialogue for videogame characters so they don’t all just repeat the exact same thing again and again would be great.
Works in theory for written dialogue anyway. Spoken would be a bit ropey.
Choosing the lesser evil is the cornerstone of our great democracies!
I’m a woefully underinformed non-bot.
I’d rather a bloodless coup than a war, but obvs its probably more important than what the Ukrainians want.
Important to remember though that this isn’t just Russia being dicks for no reason. My reading is that they’re responding to NATO encroaching closer and closer, trying to get a defensive position while they still can.
Not sure “loads of money is spent on weapons” is necessarily uplifting news, but if you say-so
Check out Wiby - its a search engine for old-looking internet pages
They’ve made fictional AI seem that much more far-fetched.
Obviously, we all learn by imitation and instruction - but LLMs have shown that’s only part of the puzzle
In other words, the bad guys in Blade Runner were right all along
The only reason they’re expensive is artificial scarcity. De Beers only let a limited supply on the market each year. Diamonds themselves really aren’t that rare at all
Ah, had forgotten that. Plus, it’s never confirmed the ship has literally been to hell - just someplace weird, awful and magical.
Funnily enough, I’ve forgotten it. Seen the film 2 or 3 times, too!
Great film, other than the weird trope of “they speak Latin in hell for some unexplained reason”, which always bugs me

Absolutely lame, but age 12 I remember the worst most intense pain I ever felt was sitting on my own thumb after pulling a wooden stool towards me - crushed it right on the edge corner and it was so intense.
Way more painful than the time I got a drawing pin (thumbtack) half embedded in my heel, impaled my wrist on a set square, or winded myself falling chest-first off a skateboard.
I’ve been pretty lucky/sensible
Carp. Had it in poland. The toughest fish meat I’ve ever had, riddled with tiny annoying bones. Tastes a bit like discount supermarket proscuitto… not exactly horrible, but it was so much effort to eat the damn thing to boot
A kangaroo steak I had in oz is in the top 5 steaks I’ve ever had
As an oyster fan, I can confirm that different species make a pretty enormous* difference to both flavour and texture.
*within the confines of slimy salty shellfish meat
Try a few different accents out - but I’ve never had better than a 95% success rate myself
