They were being sarcastic, by the way.
That’s not-
Wait a minute. Ha, you almost had me, you sly dog.
He’s talking about Zaheer and the Red Lotus. They were extremely well intentioned, but set about their goals with violence.
I’ll never stop complaining that in the second movie Dooku tells Obi-Wan that the Separatists are the good guys and that there’s a sith influencing the Senate. Which would have been a cool reveal for the audience, that we’re rooting for the bad guys.
But then Dooku is also a sith anyway. What a wasted opportunity.
Sounds good! Not a big priority, I just think it would be nice since kbin has access to both. Like others have said here, I appreciate the work you’re doing!
It definitely feels like the kbin hosted magazines that have overlap with Lemmy magazines are struggling to get attention/engagement. I think part of it is just that so many people are over there and don’t look at federated content, so more kbin users don’t bother with contributing to our own magazines.
I’m not sure what the answer is to fix that, or if it’s even something that needs to be fixed since we federation we’re still receiving and engaging in content. Would love to see more activity on our home turf though.
Is there a way you’re able to see both threads and microblogs, or do you just have to switch between the two?
Very good points, especially on siloing the admin from the mods. Like you said, the mods had been doing a great job performing damage control from the last few rounds of drama.
I’ve said this before, but I don’t envy an admin for a social media site. I certainly wouldn’t want to do it. So I get he was stressed, and had been getting a lot of backlash, but again he could have stepped back and let his team handle it.
The thread is in contest mode, so the comments are loaded randomly upon opening the thread. Only the moderators know what the scores are, the sort has no meaning for us for now.
If you click on the post, it’ll take you to the magazine in question. You can then block it (the button is next to the subscribe button).
Just a heads up, those 8k subs are just the ones that pledged to go dark. The actual total number of subreddits is much higher.
Still, 60% of subs still participating is much higher than I had expected.
To each their own, but I vastly prefer kbin’s mobile site to the default reddit mobile app. Kbin doesn’t have gesture controls / swiping, but I’ll accept that sacrifice for better readability and space usage.
Expect to see memes about it too in other communities. This’ll be the front page of most fediverse instances in some fashion for the rest of the day I imagine
