I don’t see them saying they don’t tip, but arguing against the system in place. Which are two separate things.

Yeah, people don’t likes hidden charges or surprise fees. It’s “optional” but not really if you want to be a part of society.
I’d rather have that. Why is responsibility of covering wages shifting to the customer? And in return the blame? Sounds like a situation those in charge love, since instead of them being the bad guy they get to say “what an asshole customer right?” it’s their fault your take home pay is lower today.
Hiding behind the customer going darn then it’s out of my hands. Don’t got money to spare. Then they hop in their expensive car and drive to their expensive home instead of them being the ones to pay a proper wage for their employees.
Sounds like a misleading system all around.
Samsung handles it well since it lets you hide the cut out on a per app basis, and doesn’t push down the status bar either. Just blacks it out while keeping all the time and notifications still there.
So watching 21:9 with that option makes it so the notch doesn’t become part of the video.
But, Oneplus 7 pro handled it the best with the pop up camera.
I’ve been thinking about getting an apple watch just for Apple pay and a cheap iPhone to set it up, since you can use the Apple watch to pay without internet or the iPhone after set up. Then I could root and stuff on my phone without having to rely on safety net anymore for wallets.
Samsung handles it nice where you can hide the cutout on a per app basis, and doing so doesn’t move the status bar down but keeps it where it is. With the amoled display it looks like a normal status bar with the notch or pinhole camera not being obvious.
I’m not sure why some phones don’t give that option, since if you do they shift down the status bar below the notch instead of just turning it black. Such a simple software solution.
I meant phones when I mentioned volume and power button.
I’d rather have that return than have a foldable.
Screen scanners seem much more sensitive to dry and callused fingers than dedicated finger print scanners of old. Some can’t even use it because their skin texture isn’t picking it up well, or have to do things like lick their finger before using which is gross. I miss the power button scanners or rear ones.
Depends one what function. Volume and power on a phone I find better than touch controls, since I can control it without looking. And do things like hold the power button to turn of flash light or double tap power button to bring up camera. No need for screen to have been on.
For more complicated UI then touchscreen is better with it being more dynamic like selecting songs.
Going to be nice not have baby the phone so much and do stuff like limiting it to 85%. And then having to go to a phone store to replace the battery because taking it apart can break the screen. And the cost making you rethink replacing the battery and just going for a newer phone.
I don’t think it is because the comments got restored but because the reddit profile can only display something like a 1000 comments, and scripts like power delete suite can only delete what the profile shows.
For the rest you’ll need to request GDPR file and the check each comment link provided to delete the ones the scripts weren’t able to delete.
Power delete suite only deletes comments visible in your profile, and if you have more than the profile is able to display you’ll need to rely on the GDPR request file to manually delete the rest. I’ve had to go through and do that, since despite my profile showing nothing checking some comment links from my GDPR showed that there are comments that weren’t deleted due to reddit comment display limitations.
I hope moving communities and accounts from different instances becomes possible. I would like to see communities start moving away congregating on the largest instance, and instead maybe start joining instances based on topic. So all music related instances whether it be specific genres or bands go to a music instance. And tv show ones go to an entertainment instance. So everything just kind of becomes categorized into something easier follow and find when it comes to looking for new communities.
Yeah, once the fediverse has had more opportunity to settle in and features like redirecting become available it would be cool to see communities move towards whatever instance is the best fit for the topic it fall into.
Like an instance that becomes a well known music instance, so becomes the automatic recommend for anyone looking to find a community for a specific genre or group. And a television instance that becomes the go to for any specific tv show based communities. A hobby instance where you can find like knitting or woodcarving.
Would be so much easier to find communities through topic based instances than the current random sprawl of communities.
Too short Owen. Assignment is 1250 words minimum with proper MLA citation. Resubmit before the deadline.
You never needed an email account to make a reddit account. All you had to do was click next or skip.
The FiiO m5 looks very promising. Thanks for the recommendation.
Yeah, was wondering if maybe there had been some budget audiophile compact options that were no bigger than the size of ipod Nanos that were lurking around.
So not old school, but at least old school in not being a smart device.
I’m jealous of the tildes app since I loved reddit is fun.
