I’m convinced that majority of people using timeshift couldn’t recover from their system failing to boot or a drive failure.
And if you could tell me how because I got no idea how to either.

They do not have a monopoly

Very gimmicky
They have similar ram usage profiles and similar cpu usage. That on top of the KDE having a ton of extra functionally is why I say KDE is more efficient. Maybe its not the case if the machine has no GPU to offload to. The benchmark wasnt super indepth.

You guys get so many interesting alerts. They really use it for a missing kid? Its just tsunami warning, rain warning or smoke warning for us.

Yes they are. Samsung and SK hynix are building 4 new fabs I’m Korea 1 in the US. Sandisk and kioxia are building extra capacity in Japan. Micron is building new fan in the US. Its nearly a trillion in investment for additional capacity. These are expected to hit the market in 2027 and 2028 with lag to backfill demand.
Chinese ram will be good but not good enough to block it. Business will keep buying the high preformance stuff and consumers can have the cheap modules but they buy so little it won’t affect anything.

There is so much over investment in memory its going to be dirt cheap again in 2028

China makes palantir look like freedom respecting software.

What do you consider the glaring issues to be?
I once made the mistake of taking a shit at school. And I heard a group of boys walk in and say “yo someone is shitting in there” and then they repeatedly kept asking who it was, kicking on the door, throwing wet paper towels over, then climbed up and peered over the side. School is a hell.

It seems the only reason people aren’t buying it is because its not good enough. AI generated 3d models will soon have their opus4.8(idk which model was the breakthrough at the start of this year) moment and then that will flip as it has for other AI generation.
Isnt xfce less lightweight than KDE? Just because it looks like shit doesnt make it efficient.

What a great title

The open models are good enough. We will at least have what is available today and thats enough for most use cases. Deepseek v4 is dirt cheap and its really good.
It doesnt seem like anyone is going to make a massive leap since theyre all training data and compute bottlenecked.
The first patch of big cursor put a cap on the size as it was a bug for it to keep getting larger. But due to popular demand the cap was removed and set as a toggle.
I love that the devs respond to feedback. Take notes gnome devs.

I’m so blackpilled on the average person. These stats mean nothing because the average person not trusting a tech company does absolutely nothing to push them away from it. 80% distrust AI but 50% use it and the stat is growing.

This is the least shocking outcome ever. Its worrying that this is so shocking to people here. Where the fuck are you people getting your news?

It won’t cause the destruction of the corporate web. It would cause the destruction of the open web.
They dont have that either. There is plenty of competition in the space with no moats at the.moment.
