That would mean that they are not just being told what to do, to be fair.

I like city building games and puzzles. I like other things as well, but that’s not important right now.

It takes a lot of reading and self interpretation of texts, which to me is “figuring life out themselves.”
In the context of Christianity, i don’t think you can say anyone is ordered around by religious leaders anymore - we live in a thoroughly secular society, and people know they can just walk away if they don’t like what a priest/pastor is saying (Or find a different one).
Can’t really speak for the other religious in that regard.
But maybe you can see that discerning between “which leader do i listen to” is an act of figuring life out by yourself.

No, they will get me killed.
One unpopular opinion which is safe for me to share is that we should all own less pets, and need to cultivate much more green space in our cities if we want to have them.
One reason i believe this is because cats, for instance, slaughter loads of little creatures. Just imagine - if half the households on a street has their own pet cat, all the mice in the area are getting killed. They’re actually so much better st getting mice than rats, too, so it barely has that benefit. Rats are huge.
Another reason is because dogs … they should be working, and they should have access to interesting greenspace. Sorry if you have a dog and can’t provide this, i just think it’s so fucked up that we have more dogs in the world than we can actually take care of in this way. Would you force a human to live most of its life indoors with nothing to do? Dogs need more company than many people afford them - i remember reading that people returned their dogs after lockdown because they wouldn’t be able to take care of them when working full time, etc cetera.
So I would only have a dog if I had a big garden for it or a huge park nearby. I would ideally have some sort of role sharing with neighbours or friends where we both take the dog on walks. And, best case scenario, I would only have a dog to perform a specific task e.g on a farm.

Update with a link to your instance when you’ve done it so we can show some love and support

Lemmy has got to be the only place where people use reaction academic papers rather than reaction gifs. But i love that. Thanks for sharing

Yeah I’ll write it off as an overanalysis and over-reaction on my part. I’m too sensitive to low earnings being presented in a negative light

Is this meme assuming that everyone who disagrees with you politically is poorer than you, and making fun of them for earning less? I feel like this is rooted in a misconception of “people get paid according to their intelligence” - and the reverse: “STUPID people who i disagree with deserve to have their labour exploited.”
But I could be wrong…?

I don’t need to read Mein Kampf to know that nazism is a bad idea. Sure, it helps, but it’s not necessary.
You need to know the concept of what it gets across, which you presume to with both mein kampf and the Bible because they’re very well known books behind very well known ideologies/religions.
Without reading it for yourself, all your criticisms of it are based on an idea of what the text says - this is even true for “mein kampf”, no matter how un-nuanced a text it might actually be. Maybe there is something surprising in there that you can actually analyse, an interesting thought experiment. Can’t fully interrogate ideas without actually reading them.
Also, I don’t think what you’ve said addresses what my comment was.

Honestly if Christianity is not part of your life, why would you know that?
Agreed. What i find annoying is people seeding hatred about christianity like it’s their full-time job, but then not taking the time to read how any of the religion works. They’re the ones who should know how the cited “begotten, not made” factoid works.
So what you’re saying is google knows how to spell Mia Khalifa’s name. Does this mean they want my attention?
Notice how his name is spelled gilgame-t-h here, and you spelled it right; shows that you know of him and you are simply begging for attention.
Most awesome thing I’ve seen today edit: wait I hiked up a hill and looked at the city skyline today, nevermind
Maybe it was actually his helmet making the sound but the dagger daggerflute was the electronic “key” to access music mode. He blows into his microphone and instead of it relaying the sound of his breaths it encodes it into flute playing. Technology is wonderful.

Rule 5?

Where is the map from?

do you tend to pee around the toilet?
It can happen yes.

Ah! The rare Pipi dada decorating style!
Yes genuinely is that what the post is about? I thought the post was about that, too
