I definitely agree. Another good thing about being in a federated platform is that even if you want to jump ship later down the line or if another instance becomes more popular, you still get to see contents from both instances.
Wait, do you actually have to pay for the original icon now? In what world do you make your actual logo a paid option? I hope this is only for the r/place event but with the recent changes I wouldn’t be surprised if they made everyone pay to not have the shitty pixel icon.
Wait, couldn’t people have used this to continue developing 3rd party apps?
Wha’¿ why!
That’s for stuff like r/Ukraine which is important to keep people up to date on real life events.

Edit: It’s called auto media preview and it’s shows up when you click the settings bar on the bottom of the page.
They probably weren’t sure at the start of how much support they’d get so they decided to have a set date just so people could unite easier and would be more likely to take action. I’m sure they’d have suggested a longer period if they knew they’d get this much support. They probably also hoped Spez would’ve backed off by now.
@carturo222 As far as I know that’s a Mastodon #exclusive feature. Probably because it could cause some massive #security issues.
