Linux@lemmy.ml•Framework announced the Framework 13 Pro with full Linux compatibility from the Start
2·27 days agoI wonder how its touchscreen will be or is on their available laptops and does it support drawing with a tap like ipad or any other android tablet does? My friend has a surface laptop, its hardware is very good from what i know, it also has its own pen and it has pen pressure, the only problem is the screen, whenever i tried to draw on it the screen would shake and i was afraid i was going to break it. I wonder is that a surface laptop problem or a problem with all laptops that support this feature

yeerp, i was unemployed for a year and did nothing but sit around, genuinely one of the worst times in my life lol
yes! i loved doing 3d art on my own time when i was studying in school and uni, now i work as a 3d artist and i hate most of the stuff that i do. i would love to go back in time and get a different career and keep this 3d thing to myself as a hobby
well, it’s about work life balance, which in most places do not exist unfortunately. but being in home all day and just playing games or doom scrolling or reading occasionally gets horrible after a month or two (i’m speaking from personal experience this is a very subjective thing).
for me the perfect balance would be a hybrid model, where i work from home 2-3 days a week and go to the office 2-3 days a week. but yeah most people, including me, work for a living, if we didn’t work we wouldn’t have a monthly income, which means we couldn’t get food, which means basically homelessness or in some cases death.
there is no freedom to not work lol, if you aren’t working and your parents are still providing for you after you turn like 23 or even 25 then you are incredibly fortunate.
in an ideal world we would still have to work to survive and keep the society going, the difference would be that we, the workers would have 100x more benefits and we wouldn’t be overworked. and idk i do genuinely enjoy some work, because sitting around all day not doing anything is terrible and it invites depression.
TLDR most people work to survive not because they enjoy working in that shitty macdonald’s.

4·4 months agoexactly! i tried linux couple of years ago and loved it, i used to dual boot, but i couldnt get the adobe suit running so i just gave up since i rely on it for my job. its not like i love adobe or something, i hate it, but i absolutely need it for my job so i cant really switch, so im stuck on windows. if linux supported the apps that i need like adobe suit and some 3d programs then i would switch asap
