Technology@lemmy.world•Lawsuit: Amazon refused to give pregnant workers bathroom breaks and refused to give them permission to sit or use a chair and later fired them after a pregnancy-related hospitalizationEnglish
51·4 hours agoI know this is an over simplification, but wouldn’t being unemployed be better than working for Amazon? They’re so over-the-top cruel to their employees, between piss bottles, tornado deaths, and now this?
I heard a while back there was a leaked internal memo Amazon was worried they might run out of workers since turnover is so high.
I guess some people dont mind/can tolerate those brutal conditions, so why would Amazon care to improve things?
Lol glad charlie can contribute to us remembering 9/11

Love how the monkey paw curled after they said “never forget”.
Oh dang I thought the anniversary of this was necks week

News@lemmy.world•Electronic shelf labels likely to cost jobs and drive up grocery prices, US report warns
5·2 days agoI remember a while back when they were getting rid of toll both collectors and going mostly “digital”. There was outcry from the workers saying it will put them out of work so we shouldn’t do it. Even tho it’s infinitely better for everyone to just drive thru and get billed later.

Yeah just like misogyny is a made-up delusion by hysterical women because they can’t find a man, right?? :D

Assuming zero public assistance or friends or family or charity is available? Completely on your own? Of course some people are in that spot but I have a hard time believing the average person has nobody in their life they could ask for some kind of help.
Is the solution is to just accept your working conditions? I also have a hard time seeing that as the solution.
