Then they patched the switch and intentionally made the switch incompatible with 3rd party chargers and docks. And I recall this because it bricked my GFs switch literally the first use post patch after using that dock for nearly a year.

No, Switch 1 was non-compliant as well.
Making USB-C chargers and docks is cheap and easy, there’s thousands on the market.

Then they patched the switch and intentionally made the switch incompatible with 3rd party chargers and docks.
And I recall this because it bricked my GFs switch literally the first use post patch after using that dock for nearly a year.
