For the past 45 years, Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood has celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a parade featuring Mexican bands, floats and dancers, and a festival at a local park.

But this year’s celebration, which attracts up to 300,000 people annually, has been canceled.

    No, CO doesn’t. That’s why it’s so dangerous.

    The human body only has receptors for a build-up of CO2 in our bodies. We can’t tell if we have a lack of oxygen, so any odorless gas in large enough quantities will kill you without you knowing. Hypoxia looks the same no matter what the cause is.

      You don’t KNOW you’re being poisoned by CO but as I said, it confuses them into thinking they’re fine. In their confusion, they can still do things and potentially even figure out a way out.
