We have zero evidence what he looked like. The region was extremely ethnicly diverse. He could have looked like anything really, from pasty blond/red haired white guy to dark skinned. Most likely just similar to your average people in the region today.

Maybe zero evidence isn’t quite true. I wonder what the researchers worked off to make this guess? Skulls from archaeological digs in the area? Egyptian art? It’s a fair guess, at least, that Moses’ hairstyle would have links with contemporary Egyptian culture, given where and how he grew up. But I agree at most it all probably amounts to very loose guesswork.

Or did they just pump into AI: “make a picture of Moses that looks different to medieval and early 20thC style, that will give me academia-likes.” ;-)

Edit: ah, pity, looks like this is a joke rather than a real ‘reconstruction’. I also didn’t read the fact-check before I commented!

Oh yes of course, a “pasty blond /red haired white guy” is similar to average people in the region today, thanks for the insight
