    why is the city on the hook for this one? are they supposed to just let car thieves drive away?

      Yes. Most police chases end in a wreck. Almost 30% of the time innocent people are killed. That’s not including the officers or passengers in the fleeing car. Over half of all chases are non-violent crimes. Also this police force has a pretty dark history of bad choices.

      Yeah, police chases are incredibly dangerous and should only be used to prevent a criminal from doing something even more dangerous. Stealing cars is bad but it’s still just property and we shouldn’t be putting that much risk on the public to protect someone’s property.

      Because of collateral damage being greater than the value of the car. It makes no sense to chase if it puts other pedestrians in danger, now they can just find them and then arrest them later.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.


9. No link shorteners.

The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
