The Trump administration plans to close the East Potomac Golf Course and park Nov. 15 with the intention of renovating the facility.
A federal judge said Saturday she intends to appoint an ex-top federal prosecutor in the nation’s capital during Donald Trump’s first term to investigate whether she was purposefully misled by lawyers and administration officials in a lawsuit challenging one of his prized Washington construction projects, the renovation of a historic public golf course along the Potomac River.
Jessie Liu, a former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, would examine whether officials with the Interior Department and the National Park Service and attorneys with the Department of Justice violated ethics or misled U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes during the course of the case that was initiated in February by the DC Preservation League and two golfers.
Remember, the people elected james talaRICO. Justice will come.
… And this is the thing that perpetually pisses off voters. Of course we want to be sure laws are broken, and not operate on gut feelings & vibes. However, if this isn’t the shortest investigation in history, we should just start over. Stop trying to figure out who said what and when. You’ll never get to the bottom of it. There’s what “the administration” told the judge via its legal representatives, and what “the administration” did. That’s a pretty simple timeline, and it’s the administration who’s on trial - not any single person. If they want to argue it was a breakdown in communication, the answer should be, “that’s your problem, and not a reason against holding you accountable.” Once the administration is found guilty, we can get into who said/did what and when. Personally, I think the law should follow a “trickle up” approach in these matters. You find the highest ranked person you can prove did/said something actionable, and punish that person and their direct manager.
Disagree: showing that the little people will be held accountable is what starts to strip support from the big fish. Everyone who was involved should face the consequences of their actions.
Trump misleading a Judge? Never! How could you even think of something like that?!
A known pedophile with 34 (known) felonies would NEVER do something like that!
But on a serious note, stop wasting taxpayers money on this bullshit and throw Trump, his whole family, those with ties to him and anyone that did business with the Trump family and you’ll put thousands of criminals in prison and then you will actually and truly “Make America Great Again”.
Finally Trump’s going to jail 🙏🙏
This is why I am happy to have the Dems kiss Trump’s butt for the next two years.
Let’s give him as many wins as he wants.
Once he’s out, there are so many cases against him at the state level that he’ll never get done with them all.
El-Sayed said he’d be happy to call Meidcare For All ‘The Donald TrumpCare Bill.’
I’d rather wake up to his funeral
I genuinely don’t understand how anyone can believe that still. By all means, I’m not trying to convince otherwise, and I’m happy that you have that hope. Just no clue how you have it.
Did you not see the election results? If he lives long enough, he WILL go to prison. The American people will not accept anything less.
Besides, if America ever wants to rehabilitate itself in the eyes if it’s citizens and the world, we must harshly crush MAGA, and purge it from our government and our society. We can never expect the rest of the world to trust us again if we leave MAGA alive to rise once again.
From your lips to whatever god you want to believe in’s ears.
You must be young to be so hopeful.
I hope you’re right!
Must you be young to be hopeful? We know that ALL social media is crawling with division bots that inflame all sides of every narrative. I’m trying to remind myself that when I feel cynical about the future, that’s my cue to log off.
By the sheer power of sarcasm, that’s how!!
Surely, believing that Trump will face justice is the opposite of cynicism.
Alright, sarcasm then!
