For browsing I have converted to Lemmy. For getting answers from a Google search I still click on the Reddit option. Lemmy doesn’t show on a Google search and other forums are useless for information. Minus stack overflow.

I disagree that other forums are useless. For example, I’ve replaced Reddit for DIY stuff with a DIY forum and gardening questions with a gardening or fruit tree growing forum. I think it just requires more patience and digging. I will definitely admit that the upvote feature is nice for elevating the best answers though.

Definitely ask those questions on Lemmy too, specially when the answer isn’t present/precise enough! That’s how lemmy can be even more useful.
I’ve actually seen lemmy results pop up recently when my query included it so Google does definitely seem to index it.
