    Imo this is not so much infuriating as it is just straight up ridiculous.
    Don’t bloody buy smart appliances. If you happen to have one, switch off its connectivity. If you insist on local connectivity, isolate it from the web. If you insist on using the internet connectivity of your home appliance then you deserve every bit of the nonsense that is thrown at you

      Once smart appliances become the only way to make profit competitively, dumb appliances simply won’t be made. Why would anyone invest in it if smart appliances make more money through these methods? Arguably, we are already very close to this reality.
