They drill that shit into you in customer care jobs. I quit mine well over 5 years ago and I still do it. My coworkers mentioned several times how I’m always so friendly, smiling, looking happy, whatever. And I’m just thinking to myself this is the best way to get over the interaction as fast as possible while disarming people’s annoyance, or at least make them redirect their frustrations somewhere else.
