Billy Joe Cagle, 49, is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal attempt to commit aggravated assault, and making terroristic threats. Authorities discovered a semi-automatic weapon and 27 rounds of ammunition in his truck after his arrest.
Cagle’s family had contacted the Cartersville police earlier that morning, who then informed Atlanta police about the potential threat at the airport.
That would have been a high body count. Hitting the security check point, during a government shutdown.
I’m happy the family caught it in time.
I’ve always said the security checkpoint is the place that will be hit since they incorporated the security theatre. Glad they were able to thwart it. I’m getting on a bunch of planes in the next 2 weeks. This doesn’t make me feel great. Hopefully there are no copycats.
Yeah, it feels like a bad setup that can go very bad. Next, we might need a ticket just to go into the airport.
