Not OP but GrapheneOS on a Pixel probably works quite well. Got independent app stores such as FDroid etc.
Still gives money to Google though.
From Ebay it sure doesn’t. That’s like claiming Nintendo gets a cut of second hand cartridge sales.
That is what I use, but it still dependent upon Google, for both software and hardware.
While I look forward to Linux phones being usable, but I haven’t had that experience yet.
