What is the song’s name
I have been looking for a Streets of Rage version of this meme for a while! Perfect.
Why did they format the text wrong?
For me the gold standard is Robocop for GB. It is unbelievable what sounds can come out of this thing in the right hands:
Such an absolute epic soundtrack. Actually all the SoR games were great.
Same composer as Revenge of Shinobi which is also fantastic. I guess somebody released the soundtrack on vinyl?

I love this related video about Goldeneye’s Pause Menu music:
Nothing beats Tim Follin’s 8-bit music though.
Tim Follin and his brother Geoff are great. I own pristine copies of both of those games just because of his soundtrack.
Here’s another random one from around that time period. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
That said, he had a very strong prog rock sensibility and sometimes the music didn’t really fit the game very well (you’ll see what I mean if you explore more of his music). He’s said he typically would just compose something he wanted because they had nothing to show him to give him direction.
Here’s a funk theme by the two brothers from Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge. That entire soundtrack is the most '70s infused one on the Super NES.
He kept composing into the 2000s. He did a really atmospheric track for the Dreamcast Ecco the Dolphin game. This is a nice one.

Wow I love this. I hadn’t heard this one.
0:05: IDK what this guy’s on about, this is just normal NES music
0:30: Oh I see
1:08: Okay Led Zeppelin, calm down holy crap lol, this is wonderful
Those are awesome. It doesn’t quite reach those heights, but I was always fond of the opening theme from Ski or Die.
I like this one too! I had never heard it before. I grew up with a Sega Master System and Mega Drive so there’s a of NES/SNES games I’ve never played.
Lots of bangers in this post; is there a good Lemmy community for 8- & 16-bit game music?
Also, check out this guy sperging out about the music for the Castlevania series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rryDOfG9JF0
Road Rash also had some bangers:
Maybe not as impressive as some, but snes Top Gear is probably responsible for my love of EDM

Pinbot by David Wise for me was the height of jams that succeeded the chip-set outside the Amiga 500 . Koshiro was very familiar with the Yamaha Ym2612 chip that was in the Megadrive not too dissimilar to a lot of Yamaha’s synths at the time and obviously coloured the house scene.
Also, same spirit but just running on hardware of a toaster oven:

“Battle has ended and we have a hero now. I was feeling different as I received blessings from comrades. Now, so much time has elapsed and I’m old now, I think it’s time for me to tell you the whole story. I hope this story will be told for a long time…”
I have no idea why it was the only game to ever do an action soundtrack in a minor key. Result is clearly 💣
