less than 1 percent of shootings where four or more people were wounded in public were by trans people, and that over 97 percent of the mass killings were committed by cisgender men

That’s a useless statistic on its own.

Roughly 1% of the population is trans so they are neither more likely nor less likely. Just like ordinary people (despite being vilified). In fact, if you leave geriatrics out of the calculation, trans folk are less likely to commit these killings.

[EDIT: And if the comparison is trans folk with cisgender men then the later are about twice as likely to commit these killings]

So the author’s insinuation is correct despite their logic being wrong, however they are not going to convince pearl-clutching conservatives with that article as it stands.

The conspiracy right claims that every shooter is trans. Every school shooting Alex Jones is immediately on the air suggesting that it’s because of anti depressants or HRT.

That less than is doing a lot of lifting, at least using the statistics from the Charlie Kirk exchange prior to his death.

      It’s 0.08% So, less than a 10th of a percent.

Leaves less than 3% for cis women. And the rest of the pie is cis men.

So, one group is far more likely to be mass shooters.

Not that we should stereotype any gender as violent terrorists, but if we were too. It would be folks like Vance rather than folks like me.
