Yes, those parts of those particular platforms are troublesome and should be avoided. But all that has to do with the word Social Media is the fact that they are one. That doesn’t mean Lemmy isn’t one. It merely means Lemmy doesn’t yet stoop to such practices. Let’s not run up strawman arguments, shall we?
when i used to be on tumblr before the porn ban someone posted a video of a girl having sex with a literal horse. Who willingly shows kids a thing like that, people are sick.
Yeah, somebody did that to me, no warning or context, just dropped home camera recording into a chat. It was the USA guy that was feuding with his neighbours and he just shot them, then went back and got a semi auto rifle and finished them off. It stuck with me a long time.
