Absolutely. On the Team Deakins podcast they (Roger and his wife James) said they try to be involved in post as much as possible, because when animators and DPs don’t communicate, the digital elements are lit differently and end up looking cartoonish.
CGI. When people say “there was too much CGI” they just mean “there was bad CGI” because the good stuff is imperceptible.
I share mine with about a dozen friends and family, and some have offered to pay me. I didn’t think about it being illegal (although, of course it is) but the reason I wouldn’t charge is that I don’t want anyone having expectations about it working. It’s worked smoothly for about a year, and if it breaks I’ll fix it on my own time.
Watching MMA is one of my only hobbies, so I frequent the subreddit and minimize my involvement. To my knowledge there’s no lemmy community for MMA, and right now I’m not interested in modding one.
