It’s weird watching people bitch or take sides on DE like it’s a sporting event. Which is another thing I don’t really get.

It’s just normal asshole main-character behavior. See ripples of that behavior across society these days.

I think it’s just old, but it’s still missing 2 presidents if I didn’t count wrong.

I can’t remember if I’ve seen a house without a garage and/or driveway.
I think I could get along without the other stuff, but if I had to lose the GNU stuff I’d just end up going outside or something.

Sure, but it only taxes a gallon $0.50 more than Texas.

Yeah, should have been “Trust us…or not. Doesn’t matter, we’ll do what we want regardless.”

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining.

What does that do?

I’ve been in camp Vim for decades, but I almost always suggest micro to people dipping their toe into Linux. I can’t imagine thinking nano, or whatever, would be more comfortable unless the person has never used a computer before.

Same. Makes nano a fucking nightmare.
Must have gone back in time as well. It’s been many decades since a nuclear weapon was used in an attack.

Some have been good for individuals, some have been bad. Like any decision made by the unwashed masses over decades long time frames. I mean, at the end I’m living in a capitalistic hellhole, if that’s what you mean.

I don’t know if it’s a language issue or what, but you sure seem to be coming at me with a strong attitude for something or other, and I can’t really figure out what you are trying to accomplish.

Direct acts, as in voting to drive from here to there, or build a building someplace? Or acts, as in legislation that determines how gov’t is run? I think we are/were on a semantic parallel or something.

I think you replied to the wrong person.

On the federal level, that’s not what or how a representation democracy works. On the state level, my state usually has quite a number of direct voter initiatives.
Glad to read that it’s not just me.
