Venmo isn’t really a thing where I am, so maybe I’m fundamentally misunderstanding how it works, but why would anyone outside Venmo themselves be able to access your actual account info? When using PayPal, the vendors don’t get my actual card number, just the PayPal account name (and shipping details if I choose to include that). That’s the whole point of intermediaries like PayPal, Venmo, etc.
What info does using Venmo give them that using PayPal or a credit card doesn’t? It’s not like you can go to their headquarters and use cash.
That’s assuming that wherever you are going to or coming from has an internet connection. It’s likely that there will be a connection, but it’s still not a guarantee. And if there is a connection, the size of the files you’re carrying may make using that connection impractical.
To be fair, 5 million cubic kilometers of gold is going to be enormously expensive to move.
In this case, the ads are probably bringing in less per viewer than the service costs, so having non-paying viewers is still a net negative.
Clamping down on this is probably a worse negative in the long run, but investors only care about this quarter.

What people can do and what they actually tend to do are often extremely different things. And when you’re trying to sell a house, the idea is to get as many buyers as possible, so that you can get the most money. Whether it’s interesting or boring doesn’t matter.

I don’t know about that. The Linux community has its own brand of toxic issues too. Try bringing up systemd or rust.
The after pictures look like a house being staged for sale, which means any colour and details that used to exist would have been removed to give buyers a “blank slate” look to work with. That’s why you keep seeing this same look in house listings, while very few people ever actually live in an interior that looks like that.
When putting a house up for sale, you don’t paint the house white because of a shitty interior designer, you paint it white so that the buyer can easily paint it what they want. If, for example, you paint the walls red, and the buyer wants white, it’s going to take forever to get the red to stop bleeding through the white. Going from white to another colour however, is very quick and easy.

If your favorite thing is being ruined and you can’t stop it, I can understand frustration being displayed as anger.
That’s the joy of open source though: you can stop it. You are free to use another init system, fork projects, etc. With Windows, you can’t do any of that. Since it’s closed source, workarounds that may be temporary are all you can do.
It’s not people disliking it that makes no sense to me; everyone has their opinions.
I just can’t imagine having the level of anger displayed by some of the most vocal of the anti-systemd crowd.
Of all the people who have incredibly strong opinions about not-so-incredibly important things, the virulently anti-systemd crowd are among the ones that baffle me the most.
