Hey, for an AAA game there is a serious lack of a launcher, issues with kernel level anti cheat, creating a separate account and a 30 gigabyte update.

It’s the witching hour.

141·3 days agoApparently being a parent is just another productivity bottleneck.
Always has been. Women have been paid less or just fired because they want to take care of the children. Usually by the same people complaining there aren’t enough kids now.
Had one guy asking if AI is conscious. I said the whole thing is actually one very big excel sheet, so does he think that excel can be conscious? Anyway, I think the guy is now in a relationship with office.

9·7 days ago4 hours driving and a half hour charge while doing a biobreak is perfectly doable these days. You can keep that up a long time. Personally not a fan of that long a stretch and we’re doing more 2 hours driving and a break.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Tiddies are nice but the metric system is better
21·9 days agoA mile is a 1000 paces walked, counting only one foot in most places. Different countries take different steps so a mile is different in each country. Somewhere between 1.5 and 2 kilometer is the most common.
A yard is almost one meter, so I’ll allow it.
It makes sense for a system where you want to easily divide quantities and only can work with the fingers on one hand.

Technology@lemmy.world•Electronic shelf labels likely to cost jobs and drive up grocery prices, US report warnsEnglish
6·11 days agoAnd next week someone vibe codes an app that automatically registers all prices on the electronic labels as they walk around with their phone in hand and tells the customers in real time what is overpriced and much cheaper in nearby stores. Store owners will be outraged and demand the app to be taken down. The next day there are five apps doing something similar.
I heard a really weird sound from the pastures out back. Turned out the goat got himself stuck with his balls on the electrical fence and was giving a good alarm siren impression. When I got closer, he saw me and suddenly got himself unstuck and making a run for it. Turns out me going after his balls was more tension for the idiot than the fence was providing him. The idiot challenged me when he first saw me way back, I told him that was not a good idea and after that he always kept a weary distance.

5·12 days agoWhile the agent apps have been billed primarily as time-saving devices, some users have claimed more direct savings — and earnings — by instructing them to do things like cancel unwanted subscriptions, apply for refunds or renegotiate services to get cheaper rates. Multiple social media users say agents have successfully applied to states’ unclaimed property sites to retrieve funds owed to them
I’m taking that one away from the article. And how business don’t seem to appreciate the utility of those kind of agents.
