https://ublockorigin.com/ (this is imo the best ad blocker, but whichever you choose uninstall any others)
Is there a ublock origin setting that stops the popup?
By default yes
If it’s still popping up you might try going to settings, clicking the “Filter lists” tab at the top, then enabling some of the filters under the “Annoyances” section.
Oh, thanks for the tip!
Ublock origin works great. It’s been a cat and mouse game for the last few weeks though. Never sure if the videos will fail to load but usually a cache purge and reload in ublock fixes it.
This and ublock origin works great with no cache needing to be cleared.

Bookseller Honda-san is a great Anime, just thought I’d say.
You know what, this post finally made me sign up for an account - wanted to say thank you, I was indeed interested in the source image, so thanks for proactively providing that. Will check out the anime, too.
META doing it the hard way. Buy or let us abuse you
You mean buy AND let them abuse you, you pay for no ads, not for privacy or lack of data collection
Just use third party clients
Hopefully one day a competitor will emerge
I wonder how many people end up subscribing to shit just to end the harassment. Probably enough.
Newpipe
This is absolutely goddamn right, I’m absolutely sick of the stupid pop ups.
Get off YouTube if you don’t agree with their terms. I’m all for piracy but only if it doesn’t incur any losses (i.e. offline software and games).
You know you don’t have to shill for corporations, right?
I’m not. I just find it hypocritical. You don’t like it yet you keep using it.
I’m not.
A highly profitable company like alphabet/google has enough money to hire people to say the things you are saying, and in fact they do. You can let them defend themselves, they will be OK.
I’m not defending any corps specifically. I’m against any kind of piracy that incurs additional costs to the service/product providers.
Pirating movies, software, games, music are totally fine but breaching the ToS on online services is kinda scummy.
