While rising vacancy rates caused a dip in rents and home prices, it hasn’t solved Canada’s chronically unaffordable property market

There are a few different levers the government could pull to lower house prices.

Could being the key word.

They don’t and won’t until there are more renters than owners voting.

The lesson seems to be that it helps a bit but is by no means a panacea - i.e. pretty much what one would expect.
